Hemming Your Jeans
Turn the pant leggs inside out and trim any uneven parts at the seams. | |
Turn over the edge of the fabric about 1/3" and sew it down using black thread. | |
Turn the edg over again and sew down again using black thread. Sew close to the upper edge of the hem. | |
Turn the pant legs back the right way around and stich from the top with gold thread using the black thread as a guide. Make sure to start near a seam: this makes it eaisier to match up the thread without it showing. | |
Most jeans only have one row of stitches like this. | |
If you want to you can also sew a row of stitches along the bottom of the hem using the first row as a guide. | |
Here's the finished product with two rows after washing. |
